How RailSetu works
RailSetu is an independent rail booking experience. It is not affiliated with Indian Railways or IRCTC. This page explains exactly how the numbers are produced and where the privacy line sits.
Computed, not guessed
- Fare maths: base, reservation, superfast, catering, GST and convenience charges are computed by pure, auditable functions.
- Refund maths: cancellation windows, clerkage, Tatkal non-refundability and TDR eligibility follow deterministic rules.
- Availability and confirmation probability: derived from train, route, class, quota and date — the same search always gives the same answer.
- Reduced-motion mode disables every decorative animation across the site.
- Accessibility modes, Hindi/English copy, keyboard flow and screen-reader labels.
- Bookings persist in your own browser's local storage, and you can wipe them from the footer.
Privacy by default
- Passenger details and bookings stay on your device — they are never uploaded to a server.
- Payment references are validated locally; card numbers are never stored or transmitted.
- The AI assistant only receives the journey context needed to answer, never your identity documents.
- Clearing your data from the footer removes every ticket and preference instantly.
Never touched
- No connection to IRCTC, Indian Railways or any government system — nothing is scraped, proxied or reverse engineered.
- No Aadhaar, PAN, OTP, card or UPI credentials are accepted or stored.
- No government logos, seals or branding.
- No analytics on personal fields; passenger details never leave your browser.
